Total Performance Data (TPD) has signed a long-term agreement with the Barbados Turf Club (BTC) to deploy its world-leading GPS tracking, automated timing, and live race graphics system at the iconic Garrison Savannah racecourse.

This marks a transformative moment for racing in Barbados and extends TPD’s international racecourse coverage to 16 countries worldwide.

Following months of collaborative preparation, this agreement reinforces TPD’s mission to modernise global racing through precision data, dynamic visual storytelling, and actionable performance insights.

Since its founding, TPD has operated in exclusive partnership with GMAX Technology Ltd., whose cutting-edge GMAX Race System was designed and developed in Cambridge (UK). The system tracks every horse in real time, delivering highly accurate data including:

  • Live speed and sectional timing
  • Exact positional tracking
  • Stride length and frequency
  • Running order and performance metrics
  • Fully automated race timing

On race days, lightweight GPS trackers are securely fitted into each saddlecloth by trained operators. These devices transmit positional data ten times per second before, during, and after each race, ensuring unparalleled accuracy and reliability.

The low-latency data stream powers broadcast graphics, on-course displays, digital platforms, and in-race analytics—providing fans, bettors, broadcasters, and racing professionals with a richer, more immersive experience.

With the system set to go live across BTC’s competitive year-round calendar, racegoers will benefit from enhanced real-time graphics and deeper post-race analysis. Major fixtures including the Midsummer Classic Raceday and the Barbados Derby Raceday will showcase the full capabilities of TPD’s platform.

Beyond fan engagement, the partnership unlocks new commercial, broadcast, and digital opportunities for Barbadian racing, positioning the jurisdiction at the forefront of modern data-driven sport.

By integrating TPD’s advanced performance technology, Barbados joins a growing network of leading international racing jurisdictions embracing live tracking and analytics as the new industry standard.

This partnership underscores TPD’s commitment to expanding the global reach of performance data innovation—empowering racing stakeholders with deeper insight, stronger integrity frameworks, and next-generation fan engagement tools.

With installation underway, Barbados racing is set to enter a bold new era—powered by precision, performance, and Total Performance Data.
