North American GPS tracking data partners Total Performance Data (TPD) and Equibase announce renewal of prestigious Woodbine partnership and new fan engagement innovations

Total Performance Data (TPD) and Equibase today announce the proud continuation of their long-established partnership with Woodbine Entertainment Group.

Since 2017, TPD and Equibase have together tracked 2000+ racedays and 21,000+ Thoroughbred and Standardbred races at both Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park: a partnership now set to surpass a major 10-year milestone.

Leveraging GPS data captured by Gmax – the world’s most agile and widely used horse racing GPS tracking system – this announcement means that local, national and international Woodbine fans will continue to enjoy the in-depth and trusted data-powered performance and race timing output to which they are accustomed – both live on raceday and via Woodbine and Equibase’s content channels.

In addition, the renewed partnership will see the launch of several new, cutting-edge fan engagement content innovations at Woodbine. Uniquely developed by TPD, this will include a comprehensive collection of graphical performance content, providing horsemen, handicappers and Woodbine fans the world over with fresh and informative new race insights – before, during and after the race.

Furthermore, the TPD and Woodbine teams are working collaboratively on the development and future implementation of further unrivalled data visualisation and analysis tools – all with a clear vision to breathe new life into the wealth of available equine data in modern and accessible ways.

Will Duff Gordon, CEO of Total Performance Data commented, “We are very proud of our longstanding partnership with Canada’s largest horse racing operator, Woodbine, and look forward to the exciting next chapter to follow.  We now stand on the precipice of what promises to be several game-changing, data-led content developments for fans to enjoy, the like of which has never been seen before in the region, or in fact the world. We thank the Woodbine team for the support and trust they continue to show in TPD, and for their innovative spirit and collaboration throughout this recent process”.

David Vivenes, Executive Vice President, Revenue, Brand and Experience, Woodbine Entertainment Group, said, “Our long‑standing partnership with Total Performance Data and Equibase has consistently raised the bar for how we deliver meaningful race data to fans, horse people, and industry stakeholders. As we approach a decade of collaboration, we’re excited to build on that foundation with new, innovative visualizations and insights that enhance the fan experience and showcase the power of modern performance data across our racing product.”

Kyle McDoniel, President and COO of Equibase said, “Woodbine was one of the first tracks to install GPS and they have been a tremendous partner, so we are thrilled to not only extend the partnership but build upon it with these new exciting visualizations.”
