Ascot powers Fan Engagement with Cutting-Edge GPS Data Infographics from Total Performance Data

Ascot Racecourse has enhanced its fan experience in 2025 with the introduction of new performance-based infographics powered by GPS data from Total Performance Data (TPD).

The eye-catching graphics – shown post-race at Royal Ascot and now set to feature throughout the autumn programme, including QIPCO British Champions Day and the upcoming jumps season – deliver F1-style insights that bring race performance to life for racegoers, owners, trainers, and connections.

Each infographic highlights key performance metrics captured from TPD’s industry-leading GPS tracking, including:

  • The time taken for a horse to accelerate from 0–30 mph
  • The top speed achieved during the race
  • The horse’s speed through the final two furlongs
  • Stride length and stride frequency

Already proven popular with audiences at Royal Ascot, these graphics provide a new dimension to the sport, helping fans better understand and celebrate the incredible athleticism of the thoroughbred.

Adam Moore, Director of Racing Partnerships at Total Performance Data, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Ascot to showcase the raw athleticism of racehorses in such a compelling way. These infographics give fans, owners and trainers a fresh perspective on performance – much like Formula 1 has done for motor racing – and we’re proud to help bring that excitement to British racing’s most iconic stage.”

Graham Badger, Head of Media and Broadcast at Ascot Racecourse, said: “Bringing our sport to life and engaging audiences is so important and TPD have been fantastic partners to help us do this through the performance-based infographics. We have had great feedback throughout the summer on the infographics from racegoers, media and participants, offering them unrivalled insight into performances and allowing people to use the data to confirm or sometimes counter what they think they have seen live. It’s exciting to think where this could go and look forward to working with TPD to continue to develop the concept.”

This initiative is part of Ascot’s ongoing commitment to innovation and fan engagement, which has contributed to another year of rising attendances in 2025.
