Equibase and partners Total Peformance Data (TPD) are pleased to announce the commencement of GPS tracking and live race graphics services at Fair Grounds in New Orleans.

The partnership further extends the dominant presence of TPD’s world-leading and agile race tracking system – powered by GMAX Technology – in the North American region, where they have partnered with Equibase since 2017.
Being the nation’s second-oldest racetrack, the system launched into full operation during the opening raceday of what is the 154th Thoroughbred season at the iconic Fair Grounds on 20 November, in time for the showcase Thanksgiving Classic the following week.
On-track racegoers now have an enhanced and better-informed live viewing experience thanks to live running order screen graphics, while GPS charts will be available on Equibase.Com throughout the 70+ raceday season to give race fans extra – and by now familiar – equine performance insights.
The deal also extends Equibase and TPD’s GPS tracking footprint within the impressive portfolio of Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) racetracks, with Road to the Derby Day (17 January) and Louisiana Derby Day (21 March) among the headlines acts to follow later in the Fair Grounds season.

Will Duff Gordon, CEO of TPD commented: “We are delighted to work with our 5th jewel in CDI’s crown and look forward to capturing pre-race, live and post-race insights from the Derby-bound athletes who compete at the historic Fair Grounds. We are grateful for the opportunity to service Churchill Downs, Ellis Park, Turfway Park, Colonial Downs, and now Fair Grounds”.
